Heavy Hitter Okra (Abelmoschus esculentus) is a green fruited variety developed by Ron Cook at Dry Creek Farm in Moodys, Oklahoma. It was first brought to our attention from a mention in Chris Smith’s book The Whole Okra: A Seed to Stem Celebration. With a name like Heavy Hitter, we knew we had to try it!
Plants reach up to seven feet tall and produce up to 150 per season. Very sturdy branches. This is a great variety for market production and backyard growers alike.
Seeds are certified organic.
